Year 5 and 6 song words : We Have Found Him
We have found him
Shepherds found Him,
Heard the good news out on the hills,
Now they stand in wonder
Giving their praise to him
Chorus
Such an amazing thing,
Let all the angels sing !
Such an amazing thing,
Let all the angels sing
Wise men found Him,
Led by the star, came from afar,
Now they kneel in worship
Bringing their gifts to Him
Chorus
We have found him,
Here in this place our journey ends.
For we have found Him-
Jesus the King is here.

Year 5 Victorian Food Tasting
Tomorrow we have our Victorian food tasting day. I am trying to make this as authentic as possible and they will have numerous foods to try tomorrow as ‘surprises.’
Foods include:
Beef dripping and wholemeal bread
Tinned tongue
ham
watercress
cucumber
beetroot
swede
treacle
fruit
potato peelings (a tiny amount and well washed!)
honey
scones with clotted cream and jam
…and of course- a Victorian sponge!
I REALLY want this to be an authentic experience for them and we shall also explore the programme Victorian Bakers.
Thank you, Mrs R

BUG CLUB homework, Year 5
As you have your Oracy projects and the week just gone was a four day week, I didn’t set any other homework for you during the week.
You have all been allocated new Bug Club books to help to improve your comprehension skills. Please work through at least one of these over the weekend. I will check on Sunday night to see who has managed this challenge!

Year 5 Success Criteria for Oracy Presentations
In class we have generated our success criteria by watching a very good example from last year. We have discussed what is good about it:
Success Criteria
1) A way to introduce your presentation- gets your audience prepared for what is about to be presented
2) Making sure you have practised so that you have excellent eye contact
3) Having good expression. This will keep your audience interested
4) Be enthusiastic in places to keep them interested
5) Have something visual for your audience to look at
6) Use gesture to help your audience focus on things that are important
7) Have important details to interest your audience
8) HAVE GOOD VOLUME!
Remember: this is NOT a reading project. Just have some key dates, words or pictures that can jog your memory and allow you to expand.
I have shown you how to use Powerpoint on HWB (Office 365) and you will need to share this with me. My email as shown is reeces@hwbmail.net (also on our class page on our website) I have shown you how to share this once it is complete. You don’t need to use Powerpoint or J2e if you do not wish this time. It is an option. Some of you may wish to create a board to help you remember your facts and to give your audience something to look at.
Have fun learning your facts and creating this. I expect you to practise and practise.
