Year 3 17th September
Good start to the week, with most boys and girls bringing gym kits for dance today (Monday) and returning their Bug Club reading books with many choosing new ones.
Just as a reminder , Year 3 need PE kits in a bag on a Monday and Wednesday. Reading books should be brought in every morning so pupils can read in any spare time and change books if necessary. During the week we will hear some pupils individually read so it would be really helpful if books are in school everyday.
Year 3 have all used www.activelearnprimary.co.uk (BugClub) to look at their books and answer questions to challenge their understanding of what they have read. All pupils have new up to date books of the appropriate colour and we will send home new copies of the log ins from last year.
All pupils have logged into Hwb online and we will also send home the log ins that were given last year. On Hwb pupils can use J2e5 which we will be learning more about this half term and most know how to use J2blast to work on their number skills for maths.
Thank you for your support

Welcome to Year 3 – 1st blog
This week has started really well and it has been lovely to see all the pupils after the Summer holidays.
Just a few things to let you know and help the transition to Juniors!
- fruit to be paid each day – 30p. The pupils will go to the trolley at the start of play to buy fruit.
- water bottles can be kept in class each day for children to fill up through the day
- all pupils have Bug Club reading books – we will send them home every day to read at home and return to school every morning even if they are not finished. We will hear some individual readers through the week but we will mainly teach reading skills through whole class guided reading sessions.
- Games kit needed for Mondays and Wednesdays, if this changes we will try our best to let you know.
- Trip forms for the Hindu Temple to be returned ASAP and the payment needs to go through SQUID online.
We hope this information helps parents and pupils settle into Junior Life.
Next week we hope to sort out HWB log ins and Bug Club log ins (ActiveLearn), if you remember them from last year, they have not changed but we will send new copies home.
Thank you
Mrs Williams and Mrs Smith
