Numeracy – this week you have been learning about 2D shapes with Mr Sandles. You have been investigating the names of shapes and their properties. What shapes can you find around your home?
Draw the shape in your homework book using a pencil and a ruler. Record the properties and if you need to extend yourself, try to find any lines of symmetry.
Literacy – this week you have spelling homework based on the spelling rule – if you add ing to a word ending with ‘e’ you have to drop the ‘e’ before adding ing. For example – make becomes making.
Some of you will have an activity sheet to work on this spelling pattern and a look, cover, write , check sheet. Others will have a small selection of these spellings to work on the words and put into sentences.
If you have SET A spellings in your homework book, don’t forget to work on these at home as well as in school.
Reading at home – all Y3 pupils have a bug club book which is suitable for their reading level and a free choice book from the library. All books can be read at home and recorded in their home school link books. Each week we will try to check these reading books and change them on the given days. If your child needs extra work on a particular phonic (sound) we will give them an extra phonic bug club book.
