Your child will grow up in a World where most children speak at least two languages – you can help your child too.

Here are some phrases for you to practise with your child.

Bore da – Good morning

Nos da – Good night

Da iawn ti – Well done you

Amser bath – Bath time

Amser cysgu – Sleep time

Amser bwyd – Food time

Amser darllen – Reading time

What is the Siarter Iaith/Language Charter?

The simple objective of the Siarter Iaith is to provide a clear framework, which can be used to promote and increase the use of Welsh by children. In a nutshell, the Charter’s main aim is to promote a strong Welsh ethos in schools and to provide a range of enriching activities that propel the children to enjoy learning Welsh.

In order move forward with the Siarter Iaith we need participation from every member of the school community, and members of the school workforce and council, the pupils and their parents, school governors and the wider community are all encouraged to take full ownership of it.

The Criw Cymraeg are instrumental in leading and driving the Language Charter forward.
