Spring Term 2020 Year 3

Welcome back and Happy New Year to Year 3 and their families for 2020.

Our topic this term is ‘Blood, bones and gory bits’. This term pupils will explore the human body and human organs. They will also learn about living a healthy lifestyle, thinking about physical activity and the food we eat. Feel free to start looking at information about the human body and its organs. If anyone has a background suitable to our topic on the body or health/fitness and feel they could come and visit us in class we would love to hear from you.

Today, Monday 6th January the class have started back with their weekly spellings and our digital leaders have published them to our class blog. They will continue to do this weekly so if the spelling sheets go missing they will be on our class blog. On Friday they will be challenged on these spellings. It is also important to read and spell the HFW (high frequency words).

My Maths will also be updated with weekly maths challenges to complete at home.

We will use Reading eggs / Reading eggspress in class as much as we can but it would also be beneficial to complete lessons at home to develop phonics and the eggspress programme offers questions on the text.

Year 3 pupils often find it easier to bring a gym kit into school on a Monday and take home on a Friday as PE days can vary due to the hall and the weather at this time of year.
