Year 3 Success Criteria for presenting your oracy project

We hope that you have enjoyed researching a place in Wales for your oracy project.

We asked you to look at the following points when researching.

  1. Show knowledge of your locality by researching it well.
  2. Use a map to find information about the locality, possibly draw a map that includes a key and symbols.
  3. Talk about natural and human features.
  4. What impacts have people had on the locality? These could be positive or negative.
  5. Express your views about your chosen place and try and support your opinion with some reasons.
  6. Try and choose a variety of ways of presenting the information (diagrams, maps, tables, graphs, charts, pictures, photographs etc).

Now you should be ready to start thinking about creating the presentation if you haven’t already done so.

We have chatted in class and come up with some success criteria for presenting.

  1. Use interesting facts and add detail.
  2. Try and present in a lively way to keep your audience interested.
  3. Organise what they say so that listeners can understand.
  4. Speak clearly varying expression to help listeners.
  5. Maintain eye contact with the audience.
  6. Use language appropriate to more formal situations.

Remember that the presentation is about how you speak and present.  Try not to read off a script.  You may want to use prompt cards or pictures to help you remember what to say.  Don’t forget to use the J2E document you have created in class for the project.

Have fun!
